Luxury Paris Wedding Inspiration

An inside look into a beautiful styled shoot at The Pioneer, Calgary, AB.

Everything about Paris is inspiring - the food, the people, the art, the places. It does not disappoint - & it is one of the most luxurious cities in the world. You thought I was going to say romantic? That too - but then why do the best of the best travel every year for Paris Fashion Week if not to be surrounded by luxury??

When discussing the inspiration with Meg from Meg Seitz Photography we knew that Paris was going to be our focus. Although we couldn't travel there (yet!), we produced a jaw-dropping design dripping in all things Paris. This styled shoot was inspired by Parisian details - stone architecture, gardens, & cafes. We wanted to create a styled wedding that inspired couples who couldn’t travel to their dream destination to find those beautiful inspirations in their local city. The Pioneer in Calgary, AB, Canada has the perfect stone & architecture that when styled intentionally, feels as though you were whisked away to the French countryside.

With subtle makeup and hair done expertly by Amplified Artistry, the true showstopper could be the bridal headpiece handcrafted by Joanna Bisley Designs. Dressed in a beautiful Stella York gown, with added detachable sleeves & a cathedral veil, and a classic black suit, the real in-love couple turned models were a romantic dream. As though it couldn’t get any better, the rare yellow diamond ring from Alberta Diamond Exchange was the perfect addition.

Florals were executed exquisitely by Hue Florals. Creating the perfect garden-like ground floral arch for the ceremony, & lush bridal bouquet. But I think my favourite floral element other than the boutonnière pocket square, was the piano & violin installations. Designed to look as the though the garden overtook the piano, & grew inside the violin, the flowers created a breathtaking image.

The tapestries from The LOVLI Collection, a mother-daughter trio who hand-dies the fabrics, were beautiful touches throughout the design bringing texture & colour to the venue. Other elements included a ribbon wrapped cake & macarons from Handmade Cake Company, & beautiful fine art designed stationery details from The Social Page Design Studio.

Tablescapes are my favourite to design, and this one was no exception. Every detail was chosen with intention - to represent a romantic garden table. With every tablescape I design, I try to include elements that will bring depth, texture, balance & dimension. From the variety of textures in the linens & place settings, to the loose floral centrepieces & fruit, to the hand curved & torn stationery details, the design embraced all the fine art elements which all tied together beautifully in one tablescape. Peaks & valleys were created through the waterfall napkin fold, to the tall tapered candles, bringing the eyes through the entire design in one flowing motion, taking in all the details, textures, & elements. Nothing is more satisfying than a well-curated tablescape that captures the essence of an entire design.

Of course, it was all captured phenomenally by Meg Seitz Photography. Her fine art style & attention to detail allowed for the design to come to life in the photos. From the Paris cafe vignette & outfit changes (white bridal pantsuit anyone?!) to the flower filled piano & violin to the flatlays & portrait shots, her expert eye captured everything perfectly.
