When you and your forever partner are making the ultimate decision for your wedding celebration, nothing beats a full wedding weekend in the Rocky Mountains. K&D chose exactly that – a welcome party in Lake Louise & a mountain side ceremony in Bow Lake for their 50 nearest & dearest. It was a perfect weekend, with uncharacteristically beautiful fall weather for mid-October (25 degrees on the wedding day!!).
Since most of their guests (all of them actually!) travelled from all over the globe, they decided to treat their guests to a full Canadian experience. A gazebo BBQ casual fete for their welcome dinner, with picnic tables adorned with checkered cloths, and a bonfire blazing for late night s’mores. Lake Louise Inn was the venue of choice, as most of the guests were staying here in their newly renovated suites & rooms. The remaining guests were transported via shuttle from the Lodge at Bow Lake — where the wedding festivities would continue the following day.
Lodge at Bow Lake had previously undergone a complete transformation – roof to floor – and it was ready to host it’s first wedding in years. The ceremony was set in their open, yet private location off the Bow Lake tourist attraction. Solatido (a violin & guitar duo) performed romantic tunes as guests made their way from the Lodge to the ceremony spot. The mountain backdrop was perfection for their ceremony.
Guests were then moved back into the lodge for cocktail hour in the “living room” while Solatido continued their musical performance, and custom cocktails were prepared by the bar. As the evening wore on, guests indulged in a 4 course meal using local ingredients. Since the lodge was a full buyout, guests had full privacy to continue late into the night as Class Act DJ kept the good vibes going.
